HUMPHREY

The brief: Create a magazine for any form of creativity/design that appeals to certain audiences.

We created a niche publication about dance and movement named after Doris Humphrey: the dancer who created the theory of fall and recovery in dance. Where other South African dance magazines serve as gig guides and fitness tips for dancers, Humphrey is an exploration of the intricacies, psychologies and journeys behind various dance styles.

Why it didn’t win a Loerie: An Art Director noticed an inconsistency in the ceiling tiles and it led to an existential debate on whether or not we have similar DNA structures to llamas.
